HOW MANY EMPERORS DOES IT TAKE TO MESS UP A UNIVERSE?

It would not be unreasonable to ask why, in an infinite universe, there are not infinite emperors. The two best answers to that, neither of which is totally satisfying, are that there are indeed infinite emperors but we’ll never know about them because they are infinitely far apart, or the answer one encounters to most deep mysteries: we don’t know.

In truth, other than satisfying curiosity, the answer doesn’t really matter when the reality, based on our own experience, is that there is one emperor.

Though (and there’s always a though) there have been times, because of political divisions, rivalries, and the general snittiness of living beings whenever positions of power are involved, when there was more than one emperor. This is no different than the situation on Earth, for example, back in a period starting at 1378, when there were two popes. Examples can be found of two kings or queens.

As far as we know, at the moment, there is just one emperor. And he’s not having a very good day.
